It may have happened to you that your box informs you of a more or less disturbing situation. If not, it may happen to you one day or another! Your box will simply tell you that your electronic cigarette is having a problem! What to do if the “Check Atomizer” message persists? Rest assured, this message is a security system that warns you of a connectivity problem between the clearomiser and the box. Indeed, the box of your electronic cigarette is equipped with a small integrated processor which manages its electronic activity of this one. This is reassuring because this system indicates the type and location of any malfunction.

There are different messages to warn you that your electronic cigarette is having a problem: check atomizer, low atomizer, no atomizer … in most cases, it is a resistance or coil problem. But through a ripple effect, you will instinctively realize that if your coil is not working as it should, it is because another element must fail with it. Whether it’s a battery that’s too permissive (emitting too powerful a current), a badly connected wick, or a clogged communication valve! Among the innumerable hypotheses, it is then necessary to have an analytical mind and to manage the problem with great calm and delicacy.

The key is to understand the logic of the communication and to take each element into account to find the flaw to be able to remedy it. Know that if this message has reached you from your electronic cigarette, it means that you must act accordingly and not force the switch hoping that it will work itself out. Because if you persist in ignoring this information, it can further damage your e-cigarette.

If you get an error message, don’t panic! Reread your message and try to understand it before starting to repair your box. To better understand the problem, a minimum of knowledge of the functioning of the “atomizer” is required.

My box no longer works, what do the messages mean?

In general, the boxes of your electronic cigarettes are equipped with an electronic dial that communicates operating errors when there is a problem. These messages come in two or three little words that are check (verify), low (low), and no (none) atomizer. From there you can undertake a small analysis of the material taking into account the text displayed.

What does the message “Check atomizer, no atomizer” mean on my electronic cigarette?

This message is the most common resistance problem. When this error message is displayed, it informs you that your equipment does not detect the atomizer or the clearomizer. If the message displays ” check/no atomizer “, it means that the connectivity between the clearomizer and the box is bad. Several solutions are available to you! You can raise the stud of the box using pliers or a pen, taking care to turn off the electronic cigarette. You can also check that the resistance is well fixed or simply change the resistance.

What does the “Low atomizer” message mean on my e-cigarette?

If the message “Low atomizer” is displayed, it means that the discharge capacity of the battery is too low to support the resistors. Resistance is an electrical value that can vary the intensity of the discharge current and therefore the heating of your liquid. If the latter is too low, the battery may swell and the coil may deteriorate and break. To solve the problem, check on the product sheets of your box, in the characteristic part, the value of the minimum resistance accepted in ohm. If the resistance installed is below the minimum value, it means that you must take a higher resistance.

How to find simple explanations for problems?

Do you know the basics of an atomizer? This is responsible for the vaporization process of the liquid because it constitutes all the materials that produce vapour. When the battery discharges on the coil, it will heat up and transmit the heat from the resistance to the wick. What roles do they play and how do they work?

You should know that all the elements that make up an electronic cigarette are interdependent so they must be homogeneous for the proper functioning of your e-cigarette.

Let’s start with the battery. It is the centrepiece that stores energy and is responsible for redistributing it in the small electronic circuit contained in the case. This battery contains features that are not common to all models. Differences in potential, power and longevity make each battery a special accessory.

The battery installed depends largely on the quality and quantity of energy that must be delivered, to produce the correct electrochemical reaction of the vape liquid. Pairing an overly powerful battery can burn out a permissive resistor, while a weak battery can quickly drain with a high-drain configuration. The error messages that we encounter are generally conditioned by the value of the batteries. The principles involved are the potential and the CDM or Maximum Discharge Capacity. In principle, you have to choose a battery that aligns with your mode of consumption. A resistance can quickly burn out with a discharge that does not respect the CDM and that sends too much juice. In the opposite direction, a low-intensity battery should not be combined with too high a resistance which prevents it from heating the atomizer which is often called the diesel effect.

If the Check atomizer message is displayed, this indicates a bad behaviour of the resistance which can: either receive too much energy and heat up aggressively and too quickly, or receive only too small a dose of electricity which does not arrive to burn the wick and therefore no steam.

You should know that the sensors that are responsible for alerting you to a malfunction of the device are located exclusively in the box via the chipset (or processor). If it encounters a problem, the data is quickly transcribed to the screen which warns you of an anomaly.

What should you know about the coils of an electronic cigarette?

It is with the appearance of reconstructable that the problems have multiplied since it takes a maximum of calculation to parameterize with precision the synergy of the elements. To put it simply, two practices are fundamental: the choice of materials and the assembly.

For the former, there is a multitude of possibilities that can define the value of a resistor. The choice between the various materials such as the type of wire (whether stainless steel or kanthal or steel…) as well as the type of fibre (cotton, mesh, wadding…) makes all the difference in a coil.

For the assembly of the resistance, which is the most technical part, you will have to be precise because a single millimetre can heat up more strongly or not enough. Redouble your vigilance and check the electrical value of your coil using the measuring devices before thinking about using it. These same reasons are valid when there is wear and tear on the inside. If over time, the quality and quantity of your vape decreases, consider the weakening of the coil which can be produced by: a clogged resistance, a burnt fibre or an obstructed valve. If you are not handy, immediately think about replacing the whole thing.
